WI vs BAN | 2nd T20I | Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

The 2nd T20I between West Indies and Bangladesh will occur at Windsor Park in Dominica on Sunday, July 03.

The first T20I ended in a damp squib thanks to the persistent Dominica rain. The series is effectively a two-match shoot-out.

Bangladesh would be quietly grateful that the game ended with no result on Saturday. The side had yet another poor display with the bat, that left them reeling when the heavens opened up.

Just 13 overs were possible in Bangladesh's innings. However, the tourists still found a way to lose eight wickets for 105, with Shakib Al Hasan (29 off 15) and Nurul Hasan (25 off 16) being the lone contributors on either side of yet another middle-order collapse.

Two of Bangladesh's senior batters, including their skipper Mahmudullah (8 off 13), enduring forgettable outings.

Lack of substantial runs and subdued intent has long been Bangladesh's nemesis in this format, and the senior players, including the skipper, will have to take the onus to rectify that ahead of the T20 World Cup.

They have two more games left in this series, and there can't be a better opportunity to embark on that journey than this.

As for the hosts, they ticked all boxes with the ball in whatever play that was possible in the first T20I. Romario Shepherd (3/21 in 3) and Hayden Walsh (2/24 in 3) emerged as the spearheads.

They would like to continue with the same on Sunday.

Pitch Report

As we saw in the first T20I, spinners are tough to hit against on the Windsor Park wicket. With so much rain falling in the last couple of days, one can also expect a bit of early moisture, which will bring fast bowlers into the equation.
