At just 19 years of age, Hyderabad pacer Nishanth Saranu has quickly emerged as a talent to watch out for, making his Ranji Trophy debut against Gujarat on Friday. Towering at 6 feet 9 inches, Saranu has already made a name for himself in the domestic circuit and is anticipated to be a major attraction in the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction.

Nishanth's journey into professional cricket has been nothing short of remarkable. Originally from Hyderabad, Saranu only began playing cricket in 2021 with a personal goal to lose weight.

Nishanth Saranu Rapid Rise In Domestic Cricket 

Nishanth Saranu dedication and natural talent soon caught the attention of cricket coaches, and he progressed rapidly through the ranks. After impressing in age-group tournaments like the Cooch Behar Trophy and Vijay Merchant Trophy, he earned his place as a net bowler for the Indian team and IPL franchises.

The young pacer’s Ranji Trophy debut for Hyderabad on Friday marked a significant milestone in his career. His natural height gives him an advantage, allowing him to extract extra bounce off the pitch, which makes him a unique asset in the domestic circuit.

Before his Ranji debut, in 2023, he was invited to be a net bowler for Pakistan during the ODI World Cup when the team played in Hyderabad. His experience as a net bowler extended to the Indian team earlier this year, during their Test series against England. 

He caught the attention of then India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid. Following this stint, he was invited by the MI to join as a net bowler for the 2024 IPL season

With the IPL 2025 mega auction approaching, he can become a player of interest for multiple franchises.
