In a mid-innings interview following his exceptional innings of 92 runs against Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Virat Kohli made a subtle remark about the ongoing debate surrounding his strike rate in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).

Critics, including Sunil Gavaskar, have frequently discussed and analyzed Kohli's approach at the crease, often scrutinizing his strike rate.

Despite the attention on this aspect of his game, Kohli appeared unfazed as he delivered a blistering innings, propelling RCB to a formidable total of 241/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Following his blistering innings, Kohli took a moment to address the discussions surrounding his strike rate during a mid-innings break interview with the broadcasters at the picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

With a wry smile, he emphasized his intention to seize momentum and keep the scoreboard ticking, indicating his deliberate effort to play aggressively.

"It was important to keep up my strike-rate through the innings, so I wanted to take on the momentum,"  Virat Kohli said during the mid-innings interview with the broadcasters.

During his innings, Kohli showed his class by striking seven fours and crunching six sixes, exploiting the lapses in the PBKS fielding as they dropped crucial catches, including his own on two occasions.

Capitalizing on these opportunities, Kohli displayed impeccable timing and technique, registering his sixth fifty of the IPL season.

With this remarkable knock, Kohli further solidified his position as the leading run-scorer in the tournament, extending his lead over CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad in the race for the Orange Cap with 634 runs in 13 matches.
