[Watch] Rohit Sharma, Gill, KL Rahul  Practice Hard Ahead SA vs IND 1st Test

The Indian team, under comeback man Rohit Sharma, is set to go up against South Africa in the first Test of their two-match series at Centurion Park on December 26. A day prior to the series opener, several members of the Indian squad were seen sharpening their fielding skills in Centurion through an intense training session.

Apart from captain Sharma, his teammates Shubman Gill, Ravichandran Ashwin, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer among others were all spotted preparing in full swing alongside India’s fielding coach T Dilip, with head coach Rahul Dravid also in attendance.

Just a few days after engaging themselves through an intra-squad three-day practice match in Pretoria, several players from the Indian team, including captain Rohit Sharma, were spotted sharpening their fielding skills at Centurion Park.

While cricketers like Shubman Gill, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shreyas Iyer among others were enhancing their catching and throwing abilities, senior member KL Rahul was spotted wearing the wicketkeeping gloves.

The first Test of the two-match series between India and hosts South Africa will be played out at the Centurion Park between December 26 and December 30. The tour will conclude with the series-deciding second Test match at Cape Town by January 7.

The two matches not only marks India’s return to Test fold after months of hectic white-ball tournaments, but also constitute a part of the ongoing 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

Earlier in December, Team India levelled their two-match T20I series and trounced South Africa in the third ODI to claim the 50-overs rubber by a 2-1 margin.
