Travis Head has signed to play for Adelaide Strikers in the upcoming BBL 2024-25 season despite Australia’s hectic international schedule. The BBL season, scheduled to be played between December 15 and January 27, will coincide with Australia’s five-match home Test series against India and a short Test trip to Sri Lanka.

Travis Head’s BBL signing means the firebrand opener will only be available to play a maximum of three matches between Australia’s two-Test series.

Travis Head set for BBL return in 2024-25 season

Travis Head has signed a one-year deal to play for Adelaide Strikers in the BBL 2024-25 season, amidst Australia’s hectic Test schedule against India and Sri Lanka. While the 30-year-old can only feature in a maximum of three matches for the Strikers, Head’s upcoming appearance will mark his return to BBL after two years.

The dynamic left-hander last featured in a BBL match back during the 2022-23 season, also for the Adelaide Strikers.

Strikers new coach and former Australian captain Tim Paine is aware of Travis Head’s hectic schedule, but has expressed his keenness to have him on board this year.

The Australian cricket team is set to host India in a blockbuster five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series, with the first Test scheduled to launch on November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. While the schedule for Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka has not been unveiled by either of the two boards, several reports indicate that the reigning WTC winners will depart for the island nation in the third week of January.
