"To be honest I don't know about stats"- Ravindra Jadeja on 100+ runs and 10 wickets record

Champion Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja didn't know that he was on the cusp of becoming just the 5th man to complete a double of 100+ runs and 10 wickets, the 33-year-old revealed at the post-match presentation.

Jadeja, who earned the tag 'Rockstar' from the legendary Shane Warne, gave a fitting tribute to the ultimate 'showman', who sadly passed away on March 04.

The Saurashtra cricketer smashed his career-best score of 175 not-out before registering match-figures of 9/87. He missed out on entering the elite list by a whisker as his partner-in-crime, Ravichandran Ashwin claimed the final Sri Lankan wicket.

Jadeja was adjudged the 'Player of the Match', where he said, "To be honest I don't know about stats [hundred and ten-for] but I am happy to do well with bat and ball. When you perform like this, you feel very confident,"

Jadeja has been at the peak of his powers as a batsman across formats but his resurgence in the longer format has been the most heartening.

Since the start of 2018, he has scored 1194 runs at an average of 47.76 with 11 50+ scores, including a couple of hundreds.

On his batting resurgence, Jadeja said, "I haven't done anything differently with my batting, just backing my instincts. I try to settle down and after that I play my shots. I try to keep it simple. I haven't played with the SG pink ball, so it will be something new. Hopefully, it will be good only after a couple of days of practice. I always love bowling with the SG ball,"

He also hailed the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali as his lucky ground, stating that he always gets positive vibes every time he enters the stadium.

"This is my lucky ground. Whenever I come here, I always get positive vibes. I was looking to build a partnership with the wicket,"

Meanwhile, India wrapped the proceedings in Mohali in convincing fashion as they claimed 6 Sri Lankan first innings wickets in the morning before knocking them over for the second time for a mere 178.

As a result, India's comprehensive win by an innings & 222 runs have earned them 12 crucial World Test Championship points. They will now take on Lankan Lions in the pink-ball Test at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru from March 12.
