Quetta Gladiators have signed Mohammad Amir in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 Draft to replace Naseem Shah, who has been traded to Islamabad United a few days ago. The 31-year-old has been in excellent form in recent times across franchise leagues, and the Gladiators seized the opportunity by roping him in as their first pick of the day from Platinum category.

The draft process, where all six franchise owners as well as quite a few familiar faces were present, took place at Bob Woolmer Indoor School at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

Amir previously played for Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi in the past. This will be his third PSL franchise in the competition’s history.

Amir has played 66 matches in the PSL over the years. He could only manage to pick up 63 wickets at an economy rate of 7.46, with the best figures of 4/26. He recently became the talk of the town in the cricket world after picking up three wickets and inflicting a run-out in the same over in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2023.

Meanwhile, the Gladiators also signed Sherfane Rutherford from the Platinum category.
