India bowler Jhulan Goswami achieved another milestone after she bagged 250th ODI wicket during the on-going ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 fixture against England. Goswami is the first women’s cricketer to achieve the feat.
The right-arm bowler removed Tammy Beaumont after trapping her in front of the stumps for 1 off 10 balls to scalp her 250th wicket in the format.
"I think not just myself, but our entire team have a tremendous level of respect for Jhulan. You know, what she's done for the game, not just for the Indian team, the whole of women's cricket globally is just unbelievable. I certainly admire her longevity as well, and just how successful she's been over such a long period of time. She's such a talisman for the Indian team. She's an absolute bedrock of that new ball. And it's been really, really tricky to get away," Perry had said.
Talking about the match, India were bundled out for 134 against England after batting first. Opener Smriti Mandhana top-scored with 35 off 58 while Richa Ghosh chipped in with a 56-ball 33. Charlotte Dean was the pick of the bowlers for her side after she scalped a four-wicket haul for 23 runs in 8.2 overs.
