England bowlers thoroughly dominated the Indian batting unit and bundled them out for 134 in the on-going ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 in Mount Maunganui.
The Indian team had a dismal start to the proceedings as they lost a few early wickets and never really got back into the groove and were left struggling at 86/7 with the likes of Smriti Mandhana, Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur back in the hut.
Later, Richa Ghosh along with Jhulan Goswami tried to steady the ship for the team with a stand of 37 runs for the 8th wicket before a confusion in the middle cost Ghosh’s wicket. She was sent packing by Sciver, courtesy a direct throw at the non-striker’s end for 33.
England then quickly wrapped up the innings in the 37th over. Charlotte Dean scalped a four-wicket haul for 23 runs in 8.2 overs while Mandhana top-scored for India with a 58-ball 35.
At the time of writing, India had also scalped a couple of early wickets and reduced England to 4/2 in the fourth over.
