Key takeaways from India's T20I squad
- India have kept their Asia Cup core intact, including all players apart from Hardik Pandya, who unfortunately misses out due to a quadriceps injury.
- Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav, three most impactful performers for India in the 2025 Asia Cup, have retained their spots.
- Shivam Dube, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar have been included as the pure all-rounders alongside Nitish Kumar Reddy, who comes in place of Hardik Pandya.
- Jasprit Bumrah has been preferred for T20Is over ODIs, with the T20 World Cup coming next year. He will lead India's pace attack alongside Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and the all-rounders' duo of Shivam and Reddy.
- Meanwhile, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy will play as India's frontline spinner with Kuldeep, Axar and Washington Sundar. India have stuck to their spin-heavy side although little help is expected off the deck for the spinners in Australia.
