The Indian cricket team is gearing up for their first T20 International (T20I) match against Bangladesh, scheduled for Sunday, October 6, at Gwalior. In preparation for the three-match series, the players were seen putting in rigorous fielding practice under the guidance of fielding coach T. Dilip and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate at the MPCA Stadium on Friday.

A video shared on the official BCCI X (formerly Twitter) handle captured the team honing their fielding skills. The caption read, 'Gearing up in Gwalior with radiant rhythm and full flow. Team India hones their fielding skills ahead of the India vs Bangladesh T20I series opener.'

In the footage, Dilip was heard focusing on rhythm and flow during the drill rather than intensity.

"Get your feet where you are throwing. As simple as that. I'm not looking at intensity but rhythm and flow is something we have to achieve today. And once we break into that, we'll move and take 15 catches," said Dilip, as the players diligently followed his instructions.

On Friday, Dilip, along with head coach Gautam Gambhir and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate, led an intensive fielding session. Captain Suryakumar Yadav, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, and other young players such as Mayank Yadav, Jitesh Sharma, and Abhishek Sharma were seen in the video.

The fielding session aimed to enhance the players' throwing and catching abilities, ensuring they are fully prepared for the series. The Indian team, known for its marked improvement in fielding over the past few years, has credited T. Dilip for this transformation.

He has been instrumental in improving fielding techniques and morale, having introduced the 'Best Fielder Award' during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. His focus on fielding fundamentals, including positioning and catching technique, has paid dividends, making India one of the top fielding units globally.

After the opening match in Gwalior, the series will shift to Delhi for the second game on October 9, followed by the final match in Hyderabad on October 12.
