In the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup match between South Africa women and West Indies women, the Laura Wolvaardt-led side are cruising towards a comfortable win.

South Africa women won the toss and elected to field first. Their decision proved to be a masterstroke as they restricted the West Indies to just 118 runs. Nonkululeko Mlaba was the star with the ball as she registered their career-best spell of 4/29 in four overs.

Mlaba's Fierry Spell Leaves West Indies Women Crippled

Mlaba was breathing fire as she took crucial wickets of Qiana Joseph, Shemaine Campbelle, Aaliyah Alleyne, and Cheinelle Henry. The left-arm spinner provided breakthrough at crucial moments for the African Side. It is worth noting that she became the second South African women's cricketer to take a four-wicket haul in the history of the Women's T20 World Cup.

She first rattled Joseph's stumps on the fourth ball of her first over. Joseph was tricked by the extra pace and lost her wickets. Up next was Campbell, who also lost her stumps courtesy of a peach of a delivery by Mlaba.

It was a Mlaba show at the Dubai International Stadium as she was on hat-trick after getting rid of Chinnelle Henry for a golden duck. Notably, Henry gave a simple catch to Jafta and returned to the pavilion without opening her account.

At the time of writing this article, South Africa women registered a 10-wickets win over West Indies women as Laura Wolvaardt remained unbeaten on 59 (55), which featured seven fours. Meanwhile, Tazmin Britz also smashed a fifty. With the win, the Proteas are now placed 2nd on the table behind Bangladesh women.
