Nothing went right for Team India on Day 2 of the Bengaluru Test as the Rohit Sharma led side crumbled under pressure and got bundled out for a mere 46. The India skipper raised eyebrows when he opted to bat first on a seaming deck.

The decision instantly back-fired as Matt Henry and pace bowler William ORourke ran riot and picked up 9-wickets amongst themselves. 5 of the 10 batters were dismissed without opening their account. This was India's third lowest total scored in Test cricket as the team couldn't handle the pressure put by the Kiwi pacers.

Rishabh Pant was the highest run-scorer for Team India, as the keeper batter was dismissed for a scratchy-looking 20. Once the Kiwi batters came out to bat, they attacked the Indian bowlers with utmost ease, and this is where frustration creeped in, and in that frustration Mohammad Siraj got into a heated verbal exchange with Kiwi batter, Devon Conway.

During the 15th over of the match, Conway defended a Siraj delivery and this is when things got heated. Siraj picked up the ball and said a couple of words to Conway and gave a stare to him. Conway, on the other hand wasn't baffled as he ignored the Indian pacer. Interestingly, Sunil Gavaskar, who was on-air doing commentary, made a witty remark. He stated: “Don't forget that he's a DSP now. I wonder if he was given a salute by the teammates.”

New Zealand end Day 2 on commanding note

Fair to say that Day 2 completely belonged to the visiting team who dominated the proceedings. After bundling out India for 46, New Zealand batters made a statement by scoring runs at a brisk pace, thus frustrating the Indian bowlers.

Conway was the star for them, as the left-handed batter played some gorgeous shots, but was eventually dismissed for a well-compiled 91 off 105 balls. The Kiwis ended Day 2 on 180/3, leading by 134 runs.
