Have CSK Replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad With Shaik Rasheed In IPL 2025?

Shaik Rasheed, the 20-year-old cricketer has made his debut for CSK in the match 30 of IPL 2025. He is a top-order batter just like Ruturaj Gaikwad, and there are people assuming that he is CSK's replacement of Ruturaj Gaikwad for IPL 2025.

Shaik Rasheed Was Bought For 30 Lakhs In The IPL 2025 Auction

However, all those speculations are baseless, as the Andhra batter was bought by CSK for 30 Lakhs in the IPL 2025 auction. He was also associated with CSK in the previous seasons, and thus he is not the official replacement of Ruturaj Gaikwad in CSK's squad. However, Ayush Mhatre is all set to get his first IPL contract and is likely to join CSK before the MI game on April 20.

Thus, the 17-year-old Mumbai batter is Ruturaj Gaikwad's replacement in IPL 2025, and not Shaik Rasheed. As far as Shaik Rasheed is concerned, he is likely to bat at number 3 for CSK against LSG, just like Ruturaj Gaikwad when he was not injured.

CSK would be hoping that his additon turns out to be beneficial for them, as the five-time champions are currently languishing at the bottom of the table with only one win in six matches. Shaik Rasheed though was not in good form in domestic cricket for Andhra Pradesh, and could score just 56 runs in six innings with a highest score of 21 from 19 balls. Thus, it would be interesting to see how he goes about his business with the bat.
