Led by Babar Azam, Pakistan will kickstart their 2023 World Cup campaign with a group-stage fixture against the Netherlands on October 6. Before the Men in Green's departure for the marquee event, skipper Babar addressed the media on Tuesday afternoon.

While speaking to the journalists, the stylish right-handed batter opened up on playing against India, stating that they wouldn't be under any extra pressure in the high-voltage clash.

Furthermore, he revealed that they would miss Naseem Shah, set to miss the marquee event due to shoulder injury.

'We will miss Naseem Shah in the World Cup'- Naseem Shah

"There is no extra pressure on us to play in India, we are going with our strengths in every match. I trust my players more than myself. We will miss Naseem Shah, he was giving us a different vibe alongside Shaheen Afridi with the new ball," said Babar.

Notably, Naseem Shah sustained a shoulder injury during the Asia Cup 2023, following which he was ruled out for the World Cup in India. Regarded for his exploits with the new ball, Shah has scalped 32 wickets in just 14 ODIs. Considering the right-arm speedster's red-hot form, his absence could adversely affect Pakistan's World Cup campaign.
