Riding on scintillating tons from Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer and blistering knocks from KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav, India recorded their highest-ever ODI total against Australia in the second match of the series in Indore.

After being invited to bat, India got off to a worrisome start, as Josh Hazlewood got rid of Ruturaj Gaikwad in the fourth over. However, the dynamic duo of Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer steadied the Indian ship, stitching an 200-run stand for the second wicket.

While Iyer clobbered eleven fours and three sixes for his 90-ball 105, Gill smashed six boundaries and four maximums for a glorious 97-ball 104.

However, both batters got out in quick succession before Ishan Kishan departed for a quick-fire 18-ball 31. But, fortunately for India, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav went berserk to ensure a fitting finish for the Men in Blue, powering them to the highest-ever total against Australia in ODIs.

Rahul contributed 52 runs off just 38 balls before being cleaned up by Cameron Green, while Yadav struck six fours and as many sixes for his blistering 37-ball 72. As a result, India posted a whopping 399-run total, their highest-ever against Australia in the 50-over format.

India: 399/5 (50)
Shreyas Iyer 105 (90), Shubman Gill 104 (97);
