Just when fans were losing sleep over the foreign player availability chaos in IPL 2025, Punjab Kings (PBKS) dropped a video that shut down all the noise and did it in style. The franchise, currently sitting third on the IPL points table, posted a cheeky video featuring two fans debating which overseas stars might or might not return for the remainder of the league.

Shreyas Iyer’s Reply to Fans' Foreign Player Concerns Breaks the Internet

Names like Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, Marco Jansen, Mitchell Owen and Kyle Jamieson were flying around when captain Shreyas Iyer walked into the frame and dropped a remark that instantly won hearts.

Just as the fans in the video were breaking down the squad and worrying about the absence of a few foreign players, Iyer chimed in with the most boss response of the season:

“All the names you have taken are talented players... but guys, remember one thing, this is the Indian Premier League, understood?”

That one line had the PBKS fanbase buzzing and cricket fans across the country nodding in approval. The message was loud and clear, which showed that PBKS isn’t leaning on foreign stars to carry their campaign.

And honestly? Shreyas Iyer is not just flexing. PBKS this season have built a solid Indian backbone, something most teams dream of. With the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Prabhsimran Singh, Harpreet Brar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Nehal Wadhera, Shashank Singh, Priyansh Arya and Iyer himself stepping up, Punjab’s Indian lineup is doing some serious heavy lifting.

That is not to say they won’t miss players like Marco Jansen, Josh Inglis and Stoinis who will only be around for a couple of games due to WTC Final duties. But with PBKS already on 15 points from 11 games, they are just one win away from sealing their first playoff spot since 2014.

Training Resumes, Eyes On The Prize

PBKS have now set up camp in Jaipur, their base for the rest of the league stage. They will resume their campaign against Rajasthan Royals on May 18 followed by Delhi Capitals on May 24 and Mumbai Indians on May 26.
