As soon as the India A squad for the England tour was announced, Irfan jumped onto X and dropped a line that summed up what every fan was thinking.

“Karun Nair getting selected for India A is clear indication that Dear cricket will give him another chance to play for team India again.”

What made Irfan Pathan’s message stand out wasn’t just the words. It was the timing. Right when Karun's name popped up in the India A squad list, Irfan gave it the perfect emotional push. And to be honest, coming from a former India international who has seen the ups and downs of cricket life, that tweet carried weight.

It is worth mentioning that Karun’s journey back into the mix has been anything but smooth. He is the same guy who scored a triple hundred in just his third Test, a feat achieved by only two Indians ever. But after that, things went south. He was dropped without getting a real run and eventually faded into domestic wilderness.

Then the Ranji Trophy, where he added 863 runs in 9 games, topping it off with a century and a fifty in the final to help Vidarbha win the title.

With Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli now retired from Test cricket, the timing couldn’t be better for Karun. India A are set to face England Lions and even the senior Indian team during the prep for the big England Test series.
