Sneh Rana sets eyes on the big prize

Ahead of the tournament opener, Sneh Rana, speaking to JioHotstar, said the World Cup is the ultimate dream for every cricketer, and India Women will strive hard to fill the trophy cabinet this year.

"As a cricketer, you always dream of playing in the World Cup and representing your nation. It is going to be interesting and challenging, especially since we are going to play at home. It is a special feeling. And it's even more special for Harman didi (Harmanpreet Kaur), as she has been playing cricket for so many years now. Our aim is to fill the trophy cabinet with a World Cup," Rana said.

Rana also praised the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for changing the face of women’s cricket in India. Having played 17 matches for Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, she explained how the tournament helped Indian players learn from world-class talent.

"It gives us the stage to play alongside and against top-class players from around the world. You also get to learn from elite foreign coaches, their strategies, how they think, and how they react in key moments. Even sitting and observing them is a great learning experience," she added.

With the likes of Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Richa Ghosh in the team, India is full of talent and faith. And with players like Sneh Rana determined to lift the trophy, fans can dare to dream of seeing the Indian women’s team finally bring the World Cup home.
