Devdutt Padikkal and Nitish Kumar Reddy will likely be making their Test returns for the Indian team in the upcoming two-match series against West Indies. Quinton de Kock has reversed his retirement from international cricket to tour Namibia and Pakistan for South Africa. In other news, the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) franchise won the CPL 2025 title by defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final.

Devdutt Padikkal, Nitish Reddy tipped for Test returns

Top-order batter Devdutt Padikkal and star all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will reportedly be making their respective Test returns for Team India in the upcoming two-match series against West Indies. Both cricketers are currently part of the India A team for the ongoing unofficial four-day fixtures against Australia A in Lucknow. Padikkal plundered a fighting 150 in the first match against Australia A to make a strong case for himself. Nitish Reddy, on the other hand, last played for India a couple of months ago during a series in England.

PCB files complain over Sanju Samson’s Fakhar Zaman catch: Report

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly filed a complaint to the International Cricket Council (ICC), expressing their unhappiness over the controversial catch of Indian wicketkeeper Sanju Samson to dismiss Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman during their Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash in Dubai. The PCB as well as the Pakistani batter are alleging that the ball bounced just before Samson, thus questioning the third umpire for siding with the ‘Men in Blue’ during a pivotal moment of the game.

Quinton de Kock returns as SA lock squads for PAK, NAM tours

Senior South Africa wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock has reversed his international retirement and has been selected in his team’s upcoming white-ball tours of Namibia and Pakistan. The South Africa team is scheduled to tour Namibia for a one-off T20I on October 11, before travelling to Pakistan for two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is between October 12 and November 8.

With Temba Bavuma still out of the side, Aiden Markram, Matthew Breetzke and David Miller will be leading the South African team in Pakistan in Tests, ODIs and T20Is respectively. Donovan Ferreira will serve as Proteas skipper for the match in Namibia.

The Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) pipped Guyana Amazon Warriors in a high-octane final to lift the CPL 2025 title in Providence, Guyana. Bowling first, Saurabh Netravalkar picked up figures of 3-25 while Akeal Hosein also delivered a tight spell as the Knight Riders restricted the Warriors to just 130-8 in 20 overs. In response, openers Colin Munro and Alex Hales as well as middle-order batters Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard chipped in with valuable 20s before Hosein blasted 16* off just seven balls to take TKR home with three wickets and two overs to spare.

Nepal makes last changes to T20I squad for West Indies series

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has made a couple of additions to the Nepal squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the West Indies team in the UAE. The cricket board has recalled all-rounder Mohammad Aadil Alam and middle-order batter Sundeep Jora as Nepal gears up to feature in their first-ever bilateral series against a full-member nation. Rohit Paudel will continue to lead the Nepal team and he will be assisted by vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee.
