'Not Like A Player Who Comes...': MS Dhoni Opens Up About His Deep Bond With CSK

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend MS Dhoni has opened up about his deep bond with the franchise after CSK's elimination from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs. The five-time champions were knocked out following a 27-run defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

In a heartfelt conversation on a YouTube channel, the former CSK captain expressed his enduring love and admiration for the yellow team. 


Here's what MS Dhoni said:

"My connection with CSK, it's an emotional connect. It's not like a player who comes, plays a couple of months & goes back home, my strength is the emotional connection."

This marks only the third time in IPL history that CSK will not feature in the playoffs. The defending champions ended their campaign with 14 points, the same as RCB, but failed to secure a playoff spot due to an inferior net run-rate.

Dhoni's future in the IPL has been a hot topic of speculation, specially after he scored a valiant 25 off 13 deliveries in what could be his final appearance this season. The veteran cricketer has been battling a muscle tear injury and plans to visit London for treatment. 

CSK sources indicate that Dhoni will decide on his future course of action post-recovery.
