Bangladesh and hosts USA will engage in a three-match T20I series in late-May as part of their T20 World Cup 2024 preparations. The first of the three matches will be played on May 21 at Houston’s Prairie View Cricket Complex.

The United States of America (USA) recently trounced Canada by a 4-0 margin in a five-match T20I series at Houston’s Prairie View Cricket Complex. 

Set to face Bangladesh at the same venue for a fresh three-game challenge, the hosts will be expected to feel high on confidence and slightly acclimatised with the playing conditions on offer.

Under the leadership of Monank Patel, USA holds a formidable line-up, which even features the presence of former New Zealand international Corey Anderson. 

Captain Monank himself and Steven Taylor have exhibited splendid form with the bat off late, especially during USA’s 4-0 series win over Canada. 

Meanwhile, players like Saurabh Netravalkar and Nisarg Patel will start out as some of the bowlers to watch out for from USA’s playing contingent.

Bangladesh

Earlier this month, Bangladesh defeated a visiting Zimbabwe unit at Chattogram and Mirpur with a 4-1 margin to claim their five-match bilateral challenge. 

With a T20 World Cup up ahead, Bangladesh’s 15-player squad for the series against USA constitutes pretty much the same composition lined up for the impending T20I carnival.

Najmul Hossain Shanto is set to continue as Bangladesh captain after his recent success, and he will lead a bunch comprising of the likes of several senior members like Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar and dashing opening batter Litton Das.

Captain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy will enter the series with much runs on their back, considering both in-form batters unleashed a number of match-winning knocks against Zimbabwe. 

In the bowling department, Taskin Ahmed and IPL 2024’s CSK alumni Mustafizur Rahman will start out as pace spearheads for the visitors.
