Pakistani batter Shoaib Malik has expressed his lack of desire and interest in representing his country, Pakistan, in international cricket.

Malik, who was not in the 2024 T20 World Cup squad, played his final game for his nation in the 2nd T20I during the Pakistan Tour of Bangladesh in November 2021 under Babar Azam's leadership.

While Shoaib announced his retirement from Test and ODI format, he currently plays for Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League.

However, ever since then, he has not been called up by his nation in the only active format he currently plays. In a recent interview with Cricket Pakistan, Malik shared his contentment after years of playing cricket, but also his decision to step back from representing his country.

Shoaib Malik On Not Representing Pakistan Ever Again

"I am happy and satisfied after playing for so many years and no, I am not interested in representing Pakistan anymore. I have already retired from two formats and the one format that is remaining, I enjoy playing in the leagues wherever I get the opportunity."

Recently, the Men In Green have come under scrutiny after two disappointing exits in less than a year, resulting in numerous players, including captain Babar Azam, coming under fire.

Malik, too, hasn't been a fan of Babar as skipper. He believes he should focus solely on batting instead of captaining the national team.
