Lalit Modi has shown his support for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), making a bold prediction that the franchise will finally lift its maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 2025. Taking to social media, Modi shared a heartwarming Ghibli-style illustration of Virat Kohli holding the IPL trophy.

Lalit Modi Backs RCB For Maiden Title Win

RCB have remained one of the most followed franchises despite never winning the trophy in their previous 17 seasons. In fact, they are currently the most followed IPL team on Instagram.

"I think I will take to predicting that Royal Challengers Bengaluru will win the IPL this year. It will be much loved by the RCB fans who have waited a good 18 years. They surely deserve it. What a stellar performance this season by the team," he captioned an Instagram post.

He also heaped praise on former RCB skipper Virat Kohli for his immense contribution to both RCB and the national side over the years.

"Virat Kohli the superstar who started with RCB right from the start of season one - when he was a youngster who had just captained India team which he led to win the U-19 Cricket World Cup 2008 - he went from there on to a brilliant career winning the #hearts of over billion people globally. It would be a #fitting win for the team and HIM, which was bought by my good friend Vijay Mallya for 112 million dollars in 2008. Wish them all the best," Modi captioned further.

Rajat Patidar's Stellar Captaincy In IPL 2025

This season, Rajat Patidar has taken over the reins of the team and has led from the front with a calm and composed approach. RCB have shown strong form, especially in away games, having won four matches on the road.

Their current form has put them in a strong position on the points table, and if they maintain momentum, a playoff berth is within reach.
