Amid doubts surrounding Kohli's involvement in the T20 World Cup, Aakash Chopra boldly forecasts that Kohli could take up the number 3 batting slot for RCB this season, aiming to silence his critics.

Virat Kohli has returned from England and is anticipated to commence training with RCB shortly. Amid swirling rumors of his potential omission from the World Cup squad, Aakash Chopra opines that Kohli should bat at number 3 for RCB.

Chopra's belief stems from the anticipated batting order for the Indian team, where Kohli is expected to bat at number 3 with Rohit Sharma opening alongside either Yashasvi Jaiswal or Shubman Gill. Given Kohli's history of opening for RCB in recent seasons, Chopra advocates for his return to the number 3 position.

Kohli showcased impressive form as an opener, amassing 639 runs in 14 innings with a strike rate of 139.82 in 2023. However, with the current opening slots in the Indian team occupied, and the presence of Cameron Green in the RCB squad, who can pair up with Faf du Plessis as an opener for RCB, Kohli now has the option to bat at number 3. Aakash Chopra suggests that this move could help Kohli prepare for the World Cup.

A question could be whether Virat Kohli will open only or come down the order. Why am I saying that? When India's team will be made for the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli will bat at No. 3. It might be in his mind that he is seeing that challenge going ahead, so he should prepare for that from today."

With Patidar returning from injury and the addition of Cameron Green to the squad, RCB's top order, consisting of Du Plessis, Green, Kohli, Maxwell, and Patidar, appears robust. This strengthened lineup allows Kohli the flexibility to adapt to different batting positions as a floater.
