'Look At The Audacity Of PCB', Danish Kaneria Accuses Board Of Discrimination

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and former leg-spinner Danish Kaneria find themselves in a heated dispute. Kaneria, who last donned the Pakistani jersey in 2010 and boasts an impressive record of 261 wickets in 61 Tests, has been vocal about his struggles within the national side in recent years. The tensions escalated when Kaneria alleged that the PCB intentionally removed his records, sparking a fresh wave of controversy.

The controversy unfolded when Kaneria, known for his forthright comments against the cricketing body, accused the PCB of omitting his name from a list showcasing Pakistani bowlers' performances in Australia.

The list, featuring legends like Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, Sarfraz Nawaz, and Saqlain Mushtaq, aimed to highlight the top performers Down Under. However, Kaneria expressed dismay as his remarkable achievement of 24 wickets in five matches in Australia failed to secure a mention on the list.

In response to the PCB's posted table, Kaneria took to social media 'X', expressing his frustration:

"Just look at the audacity of Pakistan Cricket Board. I took 24 wickets in 5 matches in Australia, but they removed my name from the list. The living example of sheer discrimination against me."

Kaneria's claim gained traction, with cricket enthusiasts and fans expressing their discontent over what they perceive as an unjust erasure of a cricketer's achievements.

What caught the attention at OneCricket was a closer look at the table, revealing that it was sorted according to the average in Australia. Danish Kaneria, with an average of 40.58 in Australia, found himself omitted from the list.

The animosity between Kaneria and the PCB stems from the leg-spinner's consistent criticism of the cricketing body's alleged treatment and double standards. Despite Kaneria's occasionally confrontational approach, the decision to omit his records has raised eyebrows, with many questioning the fairness of such an action. Even the International Cricket Council (ICC), in instances of players involved in match-fixing, has refrained from deleting their records.
