Swashbuckling West Indies opener Kyle Mayers finally opened up about his infamous face-off with the legendary Virat Kohli during the recent season of the Indian Premier League.

Earlier this year, Kohli and Afghanistan seamer Naveen-ul-Haq were involved in a ugly spat during the RCB-LSG fixture.

Following the proceedings of the match, which RCB ended up winning, LSG's mentor Gautam Gambhir came to the defence of his player, and had a heated altercation with Virat.

Amid all this, Virat and LSG's opener Mayers were seen having a 'banter', before Gambhir intervened and took the West Indian away.

Mayers was recently asked on Fancode about the incident.

"You had a little bit of banter with Virat Kohli in the IPL, what do you think of his aggression in the game?" Kyle Mayers was asked on Fan Code.

Mayers replied:

"It's great, sometimes you need to get at your opposition, to create any chance to get out of the game. Being aggressive is always good, it shows courage and the willingness to get your team over the line,"

Mayers was also asked which wicket is more important to him as a bowler- Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli?

The southpaw was quick to respond with Kohli's name, stating that the former Indian skipper is the best batsman across all three formats of the game.

"Kohli. "I think Kohli. Any bowler would want to dismiss Kohli, the best player across all three formats," he said.

Meanwhile, Mayers had a poor outing in the 1st T20I against India as he could only manage 1 run off 7 deliveries. He will look to bounce back when both teams lock horns in the 2nd game in Guyana on Sunday.
