'I Have Always Been A Fan of Him': Eoin Morgan Praises Rohit Sharma’s Leadership

With only a few hours away before the grand World Cup tournament kicks off, former England captain Eoin Morgan has extended his support for the Indian skipper and praised him for his captaincy skills. England’s World Cup-winning captain has recently admitted that he has been a big fan of Rohit Sharma and considers him a key source of influence in the Indian dressing room.

In a discussion with RevSportz, Morgan stated that Rohit’s contribution to the team has been pivotal even when he is not leading his side from the front.
“I have always been a fan of Rohit Sharma, the captain and leader. If you see, he has the ability to carry his team with him and also has the team to do extremely well in the World Cup. Having spoken to a number of players in his team, I know Rohit commands a lot of respect among the group and is a really good leader of men. Even when he wasn’t captain I am sure he made a difference in the change room and was a key influence.”
The 36-year-old also added that Rohit’s leadership is bound to blossom with the presence of Virat Kohli who was an imperative component of the 2011 World Cup winning squad for team India.
Unlike his predecessor Virat, Rohit possesses a cool and calm temperament and refrains from engaging in verbal on-field spats. The three-format specialist batsman believes in creating a positive atmosphere in the dressing room that further facilitates the players to excel to the best of their abilities.
