Prodigious pacer Mayank Yadav couldn’t have scripted a better start to his international career. Thrust into the spotlight, the 22-year-old Indian pacer showcased his mettle with a maiden over to kick off his career and maintained tight control over the Bangladesh batters, limiting them to mere defensive shots.

Clocking over 140 kmph consistently, Mayank Yadav’s pace, line, and discipline proved too hot to handle for the visitors, restricting them to a paltry 127. Despite missing competitive action in recent months due to a back injury, his fiery debut highlighted his readiness for the big stage.

Basit Ali Applauds Mayank Yadav’s Pace And Precision

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali couldn’t contain his excitement, expressing high praise for the youngster on his YouTube channel. He highlighted that Mayank’s remarkable debut went beyond mere figures, with his sheer pace keeping the Bangladesh batters pinned to their crease.

“He instilled fear,” Basit stated.

“It was a dream debut for Mayank Yadav. He started off with a maiden and even clocked 149.9 kmph. He has come from an injury, which is why his speeds have not been 157 or 158. If you saw the match, batters did not play him on the front foot.” Ali’s words painted a picture of a young pacer capable of shaking up even the most experienced line-ups, given his aggression and control.

The former cricketer believes that if Yadav can stay fit, his inclusion in the squad for India’s tour to Australia could be a game-changer, adding,

“Imagine if he’d been given the new ball instead of Hardik Pandya. I hope he remains fit and goes to Australia.”
