India's premier off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, made an astonishing comeback into the One-Day International (ODI) setup for the Australia series and has already made an impact across two matches.

Ashwin broke Australian batting back in the second ODI, getting wickets of David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne and Josh Inglis. The wily spinner's dismissal of Labuschagne caught everyone's attention, where Ashwin deployed the carrom-ball to perfection and knocked over the batter, rattling his stumps.

Speaking to BCCI.tv, the 34-year-old revealed insights about his plans against Labuschange, who was looking to use all kinds of sweep shots against Ashwin in the Indore ODI.

'They weren't picking it off the hand'- R Ashwin on his carrom ball

“I wanted to keep the length perfectly, in terms of trying to keep it away from the batter and also change pace. I felt they were not picking it off the hand that very well. So maybe that angle that I’m creating and the change of grip - I’m using my third finger to bowl the carrom ball and the off-break - maybe, hopefully, it will hold me in good stead,” said Ashwin.

“I worked a little bit with Sairaj (Bahutule) at NCA. Working on different angles and slightly different grips. I asked him to watch from front and back, we worked on it for three-four days. For how much ever cricket I have played over the years, should have done this a long time ago. But I am doing it now at least. So I am glad," the off spinner added.

Ashwin will be in action in the third and final ODI at Rajkot tomorrow, with India already having an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
