'Coaching India Would...' - Justin Langer Shows Desire To Succeed Rahul Dravid As Next Head Coach

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently invited applications for the head coach's position for the men's senior team to take over the job after the upcoming T20 World Cup and from the looks of it, ex-Australian opener, Justin Langer is interested in coaching the team.
The tenure of the current head coach, Rahul Dravid ends this June-end after he was given an extension post last year's ODI World Cup where India was defeated by Australia in the final. The Indian team also reached the final of the World Test Championship for the 2021-23 cycle and the semi-final of the T20 World Cup in 2022 under Dravid.
After the BCCI invited the applications, Justin Langer was asked whether he was interested in the vacant job, the Aussie replied:
"Well, I am curious, I've never thought about it. I have deep respect for any international coach because I understand the pressure, but coaching the Indian team would be an extraordinary role. From what I've seen with the amount of talent I've seen in this country, it would be fascinating," Langer added.
The 53-year-old has also coached the Australian men's team after the infamous sandpaper gate incident which led to Darren Lehmann relinquishing his duties.
Langer coached them from 2018 to 2022. He coached the Aussie side to the 2019 World Cup semi-final followed by the triumph in the 2021 T20 World Cup in UAE.
They also drew the away Ashes series in 2019 under him followed by a thumping 4-0 series win at home. Currently, since 2023, he has been at the helm of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
