Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu recently predicted the potential semifinalists for the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Rayudu, a six-time IPL winner with teams like MI and CSK, is an active member of the commentary panel for the showpiece event.

As more than half of the IPL 2025 is done and dusted, the broadcaster Star Sports had a quick Q&A session with its commentators. The former cricketers were asked to predict the teams who could qualify for the playoffs. 

Despite his liking for MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings, Ambati Rayudu stunned everyone and ignored the five-time champions to enter the next round of the tournament. 

According to the former cricketer, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians are the favourites to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2025.

Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been impressive in the tournament. While Shubman Gill's Titans claim the first position with six wins, RCB have secured 12 points with some hard-fought victories. 

Punjab Kings have punched above their weight under Shreyas Iyer's leadership, while Mumbai Indians have bounced back remarkably after initial defeats. 

However, surprisingly, Rayudu ignored the in-form Delhi Capitals, who have been prolific across departments in the tournament.

Meanwhile, after losing a one-sided affair from arch-rivals MI, CSK are gearing up to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in a much-anticipated clash tonight. The game will be a virtual knockout, as another defeat would lead them to an embarrassing group-stage elimination. Currently, they are place tenth in the points table, winning only two of their first eight matches.
