Just 5 Sixes! CSK Fall In Unwanted Category As Power-Hitting Becomes Major Concern

The upcoming clash in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will witness the Chennai Super Kings up against the struggling Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Both the teams are at the bottom of the table and have little chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

The home side, CSK need to win all their remaining 6 matches to somehow make it through the next round, but the task will tough as their batters have flopped in the tournament and their power-hitting has been questionable. With more than half the season done and dusted, CSK have fallen in an unwanted category of six-hitting. 

The side continues to have no power-hitting arsenal and here is a list of teams with most sixes in the power-play up until now, with CSK nowhere in the top half. In-fact, they lie at the bottom of the table.

Most Sixes in power-play in IPL 2025

Surprisingly, RR is at the top of the table with 37 sixes to their name. The team is struggling in the tournament but six-hitting has not been an issue for them.

Another surprising aspect was to see SRH at the second last position with just 12 sixes. The team boasts some of the best hitters in the tournament and yet they find themselves in the bottom alongside CSK.

CSK to take on SRH in crucial match

Both the teams have played 8 matches and have already lost 6 games, meaning that the two cannot afford any more losses in the tournament. Generally, IPL sides who rack up 8 wins qualify for the playoffs, hence, another loss would for any of the team would mean that they cannot qualify for the next round.
