When MS Dhoni Predicted Rohit Sharma's  Historic 264 Against SL Midway During The Match

MS Dhoni and his cricket acumen is renowned all around the world and he is considered as one of the greatest cricketing minds in the history of the game. His ability to gauge the situation and predict things have always bamboozled his opponents and fans alike, and one such magical moment was when he predicted that Rohit will score over 250 in an ODI match against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens if he does not get out.

It was the fourth game of the five-match ODI series with India coming into Eden Gardens with unassailable lead of 3-0.  Rohit who was came into the game after an injury and was playing his first game of the series, started off slowly and got to his fifty in 72 balls.

However, with the talent of the man, it soon became hard for Sri Lanka to stop him as he started blasting Lankans all over the park. It was back in 2014, so imaginaning even 200 was quite difficult, but MS Dhoni who was not playing that match, soon came up with a prediction that if Rohit does not get out and plays 50 overs, he will score 250.

It was quite a bold call from the Captain Cool, but turned out to be one of his finest prediction as Rohit slammed 264 off just 173 balls.

It is still the highest ODI score and though cricket has changed in last 9 years, with plenty of big scores, the 264-run knock in an ODI game, seems like a record that is almost impossible to beat.
