Indian opening batsman Shubman Gill was recently spotted signing autographs for his young fans in team hotel ahead of the upcoming World Cup 2023 semi-finals.

Shubman Gill, in his Team India’s World Cup 2023 training jersey, was recently spotted greeting his younger fans with autographs at the team hotel. The cricketer’s humble gesture for his admirers circulated around X (formerly Twitter) as it instantly went viral across social media.

Shubman Gill, after scoring match-winning half-centuries against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, crashed Netherlands World Cup 2023 exit party with a scintillating 32-ball 51 at the top of the order. The dashing opener formed a 100-run stand with captain Rohit Sharma, as the duo set up India’s foundation of a 410-run total upfront.

The 24-year-old was recently crowned as the new number one ranked ODI batsman by the ICC, taking over the mantle from Pakistan captain and batting maverick Babar Azam. Gill achieved the feat after just 41 matches, thus becoming one of the fastest Indian cricketers to attain the zenith of ICC ODI rankings for batters.

Having minted 270 runs from seven World Cup 2023 innings so far, Shubman Gill and the rest of his Indian teammates will now go up against New Zealand in the semi-finals. The much-awaited contest will be played out at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15.
