In his legendary 17-year long career, RCB superstar, Virat Kohli has broken multiple records and has reached several milestones with his incredible batting. However, in the 2016 season, he did something impossible and battled injury to play against Punjab Kings in a must-win rain-curtailed match.

In the 2016 IPL season, Kohli sustained a split webbing to his left hand while fielding against Kolkata Knight Riders. He was in immense pain but the next clash against Punjab Kings was a must-win clash and Kohli, the then RCB captain decided to play the match with stitches in his hand.

When Kohli battled with split webbing to play against PBKS

The match was at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and just like the ongoing contest, it was affected by rain as the match was trimmed to 15-overs per side.

RCB batted first and Kohli looked in god mode as he went toe-to-toe with his partner, Chris Gayle in terms of six-hitting and made a mockery of the Punjab Kings bowlers. They looked helpless in front of Kohli as the Indian star blasted 113 off 50 balls, laced with 12 fours and 8 sixes. What makes the knock so remarkable was that he batted with stitches and it is never easy to hit big strokes when you are bruised up.

In reply, Punjab Kings lost the momentum as 120/9 in 14 overs and the Kohli led side won the contest by 82 runs. For his mind-boggling injury battled knock, Kohli was awarded Player of the Match as RCB continued their march to reach the playoffs that season.
