The last edition of the Border-Gavaskar trophy was a forgettable one for the Men in Blue as they lost the series by 3-1. Adding to disappointment, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s heartbreaking dismissal in the fourth Test was one of the highlights of the tour. After Australia piled up a daunting total, India’s innings began on shaky ground. But the Jaiswal-Kohli partnership briefly sparked hope, offering a glimpse of resistance before fate intervened.

After KL Rahul was dismissed in just 24 runs, Virat Kohli joined Yashasvi Jaiswal. While Kohli anchored the innings, Jaiswal went big on the lethal Aussie bowlers. As the hope was rising in the Indian camp, the moment was shattered in the 41st over.

As Scott Boland delivered the last ball of the over, a full-length delivery on off stump tested Jaiswal. The Indian opener drove it on the mid-on and went for a quick single. Standing on the other end, Kohli denied the run, shouting loudly, but it was too late.
