Why Are Arshdeep Singh And Mehidy Hasan Miraz Not Playing In IND Vs BAN 3rd T20I?

In a significant development, India have excluded ace speedster Arshdeep Singh from their squad for the third T20I against Bangladesh. After registering clinical victories in the first two matches, India are set to face the Tigers in the final dead rubber at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

However, as India captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bat first, he confirmed that Arshdeep Singh would miss the third T20I, with Ravi Bishnoi replacing him in the playing XI.

Why Have India Excluded Arshdeep For 3rd T20I?

Arshdeep Singh enjoyed stellar success in the Bangladesh T20Is, scalping four wickets, including a three-wicket haul at a magnificent average of 10. However, considering India have won the series, the hosts have rested the seamer, bringing Bishnoi into their playing XI.

The seamer has been quite active as a white-ball specialist, leading the Indian pace battery in the bilateral series in Jasprit Bumrah's absence. Therefore, given that he has played a lot of cricket in recent times, the Indian think tank decided to manage his workload, resting him for this game.

Have Bangladesh Dropped Mehidy Hasan Miraz?

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have made a bold change to their squad, replacing experienced all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz with Shak Mahedi Hasan. Although Mehidy played a useful 35*-run cameo in the first T20I, his disappointing bowling performance let Bangladesh down in the series.

The wily off-spinner seemed ineffective with the ball, scalping a solitary wicket at a horrendous economy of 13.25. So, in all probability, his abysmal bowling performance must've forced Bangladesh to bring Mahedi as his like-for-like replacement for the third T20I.
