In the match 36 of IPL 2025, RR are up against LSG at the SMS Stadium in Jaipur. Sanju Samson, the designated skipper of RR for the season, is not playing the game because he got injured during the last game against DC.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi All Set To Become Youngest Debutant In IPL History
Riyan Parag, the stand-in skipper stated that Vaibhav Suryavanshi will play, but he is not in the playing XI, and would most likely come in as an Impact Player. Thus, he being the natural opener, the 14-year-old looks set to open with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
However, the playing XI shown at the start of the game, displayed Shubham Dubey at the number 2 position, and it has sparked rumours that he could open. However, he is a lower middle order batter, so if he opens, it would be a big surprise. Also, RR management have an option to bring in an Impact Player at the halfway mark, so the natural choice would be Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Talking about the match, Lucknow Super Giants did not start well, but Aiden Markram kept going and got good support from Ayush Badoni. Both of them scored fifties, while Abdul Samad played a stunning cameo of 30 from 10 balls which included four sixes. He took the score to 180, and RR would now need to bat extremely well to chase down the target in the second half.
