In the ongoing second Test between India and New Zealand at the MCA stadium in Pune, the hosts are on the brink of another collapse as they have lost the valuable wicket of Virat Kohli. 

While chasing a target of 359 runs, India lost Rohit Sharma early, but Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill showed intent and ignited hope in fans' hearts. However, Jaiswal missed out on a deserving century, and since his wicket, India were in trouble. It led to a collapse, which is a common thing in this series. 

Virat Kohli Struggles Against Santner

Since the southpaw's dismissal, India lost five wickets for just 40 runs. The fans were hoping for Virat to score big as he departed for just a single in the first innings. However, the former skipper was disappointed again and returned to the pavilion with a score of 17 (40), which featured just two fours.

Virat again fell prey to Mitchell Santner and was trapped in front of the wickets after he tried to flick a ball on his back foot. Kohli was disappointed with the umpire's decision and opted for a review. However, the replays showed the umpire's call that left Virat furious. 


A Forgetful Series For Virat Kohli

Kohli is having a series to forget as he has scored just a solitary fifty-plus score in this series. Talking about the ongoing match, at the time of writing this article, India is 178/7 and on the brink of losing their first Test series at home in 12 years. 

Mitchell Santner has been the point of difference between the two teams as he registered a five-wicket haul in the second innings, following a seven-wicket haul in the first innings.
