Pakistan defeated England [Source: @TheRealPCB/X.Com]
Pakistan showed their class against the visiting England side and thrashed them in the third Test at Rawalpindi to seal the series, 2-1 on Saturday. After losing the first Test, not many gave them a chance to make a comeback, but Pakistan turned things around in style to win the series.
The win should be dedicated to two spin wizards, Sajid Khan and Noman Ali. The duo wreaked havoc in the second and third Test match as English batters had no answer for it. The duo scalped 19 England wickets out of the 20 to bamboozle the visitors as Pakistan won the third Test match by 9-wickets.
Updated WTC Points table after Pakistan's win
After the enthralling series win, there has been considerable changes in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table.
With this win, Pakistan's percentage has gone upto 33.33, and they have risen one position to seventh in the points table. West Indies and Bangladesh occupy the last two positions. After this heavy defeat, England remain sixth at the points tally, with their points percentage dropping from 43.06 to 40.79.
Realistically, neither of the two teams (Pakistan and England) have a chance of making it through to the WTC finals.
India's top position in danger if they lose Pune Test
India have already lost the Bengaluru Test Vs New Zealand and are on the verge of losing the 2nd Test as well. The India side have lost half their side, chasing 359 runs.
Despite a fast start by Yashasvi Jaiswal, the batting lineup crumbled against the Kiwi spinners. If India lose the Test match, their fate will still be in their own hands, however, the upcoming challenge against Australia will become much tougher, since they'll have to win a minimum of 4 Tests from here on.
