[Watch] Tilak Varma Continues To Struggle, Falls Cheaply in 2nd T20I vs Ireland

In the ongoing second T20I, as Ireland opted to bowl, India took to the crease with openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, Jaiswal's challenge against Craig Young's bowling persisted, caught by Campher, resulting in his departure on 18 runs. Tilak Varma, the next batsman in, faced a similar fate as he fell for just one run.

The promising talent Varma faced another early exit, this time being dismissed by Barry McCarthy.  A well-directed bouncer from McCarthy lured the southpaw into a pull shot, resulting in a mistimed stroke.

George Dockrell, positioned at deep square leg, came into play as he secured an excellent catch. Thus, Varma, who got out for a duck in the first game, recorded another poor outing.

Varma's twin failures could jolt a massive blow to his selection in the Asia Cup, with the Indian squad for the marquee event set to be declared tomorrow.

However, after Varma's departure, Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad steadied the Indian ship, adding a vital stand for the third wicket. After both got out in quick succession, Rinku Singh took on the Irishmen and struck a breezy 21-ball 38, helping India reach a challenging 185-run total in 20 overs.
