Shubman Gill's reaction to Jaiswal's wayward throw (X.com)
Shubman Gill could not control his emotions on Saturday (July 13) while captaining India against Zimbabwe in the fourth T20I of the series in Harare.
More significantly, Yashasvi Jaiswal, thought to be his long-term partner as an opener for the Men in Blue in the years to come, was at the receiving end.
The incident happened during the third over of Zimbabwe’s innings when Khaleel Ahmed came to bowl Tadiwanashe Marumani after Gill asked them to bat first. The length ball hit Marumani’s pad, and there was a not-so-loud LBW appeal from the Indians.
Gill, Khaleel Angry At Jaiswal After Fielding Blunder
While Marumani and Wessly Madhevere tried to steal a run during the period, Jaiswal tried to run out, only to throw in a lacklustre fashion. The back-ups could not stop the ball, and hence, the ball went for four runs, making five leg byes.
Neither Shubman Gill nor Khaleel Ahmed liked the throw off Jaiswal, and they gave a frustrating look to Jaiswal, who was upset as well.
At the time of writing this, Zimbabwe are 45/0 after 6.4 overs, with Marumani batting on 18* while Wessly Madhevere is on 20*.
