[Watch] Shreyas Iyer ‘Dropped’ His Bat While ‘Epic’ Sprinting With Virat Kohli

India’s swashbuckling middle-order batsman, Shreyas Iyer, lost his bat while running between the wickets against the Netherlands in Match 45 of the World Cup 2023 in Bengaluru. The incident happened because he was running alongside Virat Kohli, who always pushes his partner to sprint harder when he is in the middle of the venue.

While facing Aryan Dutt during the 25th over, Shreyas played a shot through point, and wanted to take a single. However, Kohli saw there was a gap and two runs were on, and thus, the ace batter asked his partner to go for it.

Shreyas was a little bit panicky, and thus, when completing a couple of runs, dropped his bat in the middle of the pitch. Yet, somehow he managed to reach the strikers’ end before the Dutch keeper Scott Edwards collected the ball to dislodge the bail.

After opting to bat, the Men in Blue have been thrashing the Dutch attack from left, right, and centre in Bengaluru. Shreyas has been in sublime form, as he, as of writing, has reached to 81* off just 72 balls. India, meanwhile, have posted 307/3 after 42.3 overs.
