[Watch] Shakib Al Hasan Does A MS Dhoni; Slams A ‘Massive Six’ Without Helmet

There is absolutely nothing that Shakib Al Hasan can’t do on a cricket field. He can bat, bowl, and be equally impressive while fielding as well. Due to this, he is without a doubt the best all-rounder in the last ten or so years in limited-overs cricket.

Meanwhile, Shakib did something unusual during Bangladesh's World Cup 2023 match against New Zealand that garnered a lot of attention. When the 36-year-old batted against Rachin Ravindra, he took off his helmet, which brought to mind MS Dhoni, who used to do the same thing when facing spinners back in the day.

More significantly, Shakib seemed to be in a mood in that over against Rachindra. Just after hitting a flamboyant four, he came down the track, and picked Ravindra’s turn perfectly before slamming him over deep mid-wicket for a 79-metre long six.

Ravindra was in shock for a while to see Shakib go vintage, as Bangladesh revived their innings comprehensively after losing Litton Das in the opening over.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh are 175/5 after 35.5 overs, with Mushfiqur Rahim going back to the pavilion for a 75-ball 66.
