[Watch] Devon Conway Stuns Najmul Hossain Shanto With An ‘Outrageous’ Diving Catch

While Devon Conway is primarily known for being a wicketkeeper, he also excels at fielding. The 32-year-old made headlines on Saturday by taking the absolute beauty of a catch during New Zealand’s World Cup 2023 clash against Bangladesh in Chennai.

The incident happened when Kane Williamson brought Glenn Phillips into the attack for the first time against Bangladesh. The Kiwi all-rounder struck with the very first ball, but it was Conway who made it possible with a brilliant fielding effort.

It was a tossed-up delivery by Phillips which Shanto tried to loft it over short mid-wicket. However, the southpaw could only find a thick outside edge, and Conway covered a lot of ground before diving forward to take a spectacular catch.

Phillips was delighted to get success after the first delivery of the day, whereas Conway kept his calm despite taking an outrageous catch.

Earlier in the day, Kane Williamson won the toss and asked Bangladesh to bat first. The Tigers did not have a great start, having lost 73/4 in 15 overs, with Litton Das getting dismissed as early as on the first ball of the day.
