On 29 June 2024, India stood tall as Rohit Sharma hoisted the Indian flag at Barbados after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, a victory that will be remembered as a significant milestone in Indian cricket history. 

After the momentous victory, the bond between the players was evident as former India captain MS Dhoni, with deep admiration, heaped praise on Rohit Sharma for bringing the trophy home years after his historic achievement back in 2007 at West Indies. 

The legendary skipper has three ICC titles, including the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Later on, when reporters asked the Indian skipper about MS Dhoni, Rohit responded by talking about his excellence as a player and said:

"Dhoni bhai toh obviously itne shandaar player rahe hai.. humare liye and desh ke liye. Acha lagg raha hai unhone appreciate kiya hai india ki victory ko."

While Rohit announced his retirement from T20I format, he leaves behind a legacy of 4231 runs from 159 matches, having made five hundreds and 32 fifties. Moreover, he continues to be active in the Test and ODI formats along with Virat Kohli.
