In the ongoing first ODI between Afghanistan and Bangladesh at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the hosts, batting first, are in deep trouble as they are struggling to reach 200 runs.
Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first. Their decision backfired as they lost four wickets for just 35 runs. However, Hashmatullah Shahidi and Mohammad Nabi stitched a 104-run stand for the fifth wicket to put the Afghans back on track.
Rashid Khan Fails To Entertain Sharjah Crowd
Bangladesh bounced back in the match and took two quick wickets, including the big scalp of Rashid Khan. Mustafizur Rahman has been the pick of the bowler for his four-wicket haul, but seamer Shoriful Islam hogged the internet as he got rid of Rashid.
Rashid walked to bat when Afghanistan were 175/6, but on the 4th ball of the 43rd over, Islam embarrassed him on a short ball as Khan went for his unorthodox tennis shot, but it went horribly wrong, and Rahman made no mistake in the field.
The Bangladeshi fans were elated with the dismssal and danced in their seats. At the time of writing this article, Afghanistan are 199/7 after 45.1 overs. Mohammad Nabi has been the pick of the batters as he scored 84(79), which featured four fours and three sixes.
Mohammad Nabi Goes Past Rahmanullah Gurbaz For Massive Feat
Nabi was the pick of the batter and smashed bowlers all across the park. He hit three sixes and with that, he went past Rahmanullah Gurbaz to hit most sixes against Bangladesh in ODIs.
Notably, Nabi smashed his 19th six against Bangladesh and surpassed Gurbaz's tally of 18 sixes that he has hit against The Tigers.
