[Watch] Pakistan's Sloppy Slip Fielding Lends David Warner Another Life In His Farewell Test

One of the main reasons behind Pakistan's poor showing in the ongoing three-Test against Australia has been their fielding and catching, where mainly it is the slip-cordon that has come under severe scrutiny.

Day 2 of the Sydney Test witnessed similar scenes in the first session of play where Pakistan bowlers bowled with accuracy and made it tough for openers Usman Khawaja and David Warner.

Warner, who has been extremely lucky in the series, as most of his edges have been dropped found lady luck on his side once again.

In the 13th over, Aamer Jamal induced Warner into playing away from his body, which the batter did, and edged the ball, where debutant Saim Ayub standing at first slip spilled a simple regulation catch.

However, eventually after adding 17 runs to his innings, Warner ended up giving a simple catch to Babar Azam in slip and got dismissed for 34 off Agha Salman's bowling in the first innings of his farewell Test match.

The Sydney crowd rose and gave Warner a fitting ovation as the batter headed towards the dressing room, which could potentially be his final Test knock.

As of writing, rain has stopped play in Sydney, where Australia are 116 for 2, with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne in the middle on 6* and 23*, respectively, still trailing Pakistan by 197 runs.

Pat Cummins and Co. have already gained an unassailable 2-0 lead winning the Perth and Boxing Day encounters.
