'As High As Ash' - Virat Kohli Reminds Elgar Of 'Controversial' Ashwin Wicket In Final Test

The ongoing two-Test series between South Africa and India has rather been quite milder as opposed to their contentious 2021 series in the Rainbow Nation.

However, on Day 1 of the second Test at Cape Town, India's Virat Kohli did not shy away from reminding stand-in captain Dean Elgar about the highly controversial DRS call in the third and final Test at Newlands in 2021, where the latter survived a leg-before call off Ravichandran Ashwin.

Kohli, in a similar fashion to Elgar, found himself on the right of the technology, when after South Africa's review for a leg-before call proved wrong as the ball-tracker showcased that the ball was barely clipping bails, much to the angst of the home side.

This prompted Kohli to remind stand-in captain Elgar of his luck break against Ashwin, which was caught on the stump mic.

Here's what Kohli said

"Should have been as high as Ash to you".

Elgar opted to not express his emotions on the field, like Kohli and other Team India members did, with the on-field umpire Marais Erasmus also deeming the DRS call as "That’s impossible!”.

Kohli went further ahead and urged the broadcaster to focus on the South Africa team more, who were allegedly shining the ball, while Ashwin called out the host broadcast to find other ways for ensuring the Proteas win.
